I'm an engineer working for the Province of Nova Scotia. I heard about GeoCaching on the radio and it sounded like great fun. We went looking for our first cache in November of 2002. I have managed to get the whole family involved in Geocaching; my son Doug is a 2nd year Screen Arts student at NSCC was the first as he was the only one back then with a GPS :-) Since then my wife, Caroline (a medical laboratory technologist) & daughter, Julie (an IT geek with the Province) have become involved.
Now on a cache hunt it can pretty well be any combination of the four of us....including our German Shepherd Dog, Melanie.
We are a fairly active outdoor type family...we've biked, hiked, canoed, camped, etc. Three of us have even skydived a few times. Presently Caroline is the family "expert" with 12 jumps.
Say "hello" if you see some tall guy wandering around the woods in circles staring down at his GPS...that's apt to be me (Paul). |
