Johnny.Cache
I got turned onto Geocaching in the Fall of 2003, and bought a used GPS on Ebay. It didn't work. So I bought a new one, a Garmin Etrex (the yellow one!) from GPSCentral online, and I practically wore it out in 6 months. I upgraded to a new model in the Spring of 2004 and hit 100 finds soon after. I upgraded again to the Garmin Legend and am very happy with my purchase.

My first cache find was located very close to my house, and within hours of finding it and posting my find on Geocaching.com, I was contacted by other members in the area who sent me a personal welcome to the sport and offered their condolences to my wife :-) .

I was hooked. Thanks to players like Funky Nassau and Insp. Gadget, I really caught the bug, and am enjoying the opportunities to get out more and see places that I didn't even know existed.

I try to go Geocaching every weekend to hide or seek a cache, and often take my 3-year old son with me. I'm an avid Salmon angler, RockHound and Fossil Hunter, and have been able to combine these activities with Geocaching. I love finding unique places to hide caches and plan to crank it up a notch now that I have moved to the Hub City.

Professionally, I have to admit that I am a victim of the DOTCOM meltdown, so I have had some spare time to do some caching since my company went belly-up. I've just relocated to Moncton and am prepping to go back to school to take Geographical Information systems Technology, so I am finally applying a hobby to a job!
