I have been married for almost 42 years to Betty, VE1LVW, also a licensed amateur radio operator. We have three children, a son who is Tactical Police officer with Guelph Police Services, A daughter who is a department manager with Wal-Mart in Amherst, N.S., and a son, VE1DGS, also a licensed amateur radio operator, who is a carpenter with Kent Homes in Debert, N.S. Finally, we have a toy poodle, Teddy, VE1MUT, not a licensed amateur radio operator but he does log for us when geocaching.
I have been an Amateur Radio Operator for over 47 years. Modern technology has presented the GPS, (Global Positioning System) which the amateur fraternity has adopted into amateur radio to provide APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System) world wide. As the law of supply and demand progressed more and more people owned a GPS and thus gave birth to a new sport and or hobby, Geocaching. Geocaching goes hand in hand with amateur radio, so many amateur radio operators were soon to become involved with geocaching. |
