I'm a 38 year old guy who loves Gadgets! I have always been interested in technology and remember pecking away on my first computer, a Texas Instruments TI-99-4A. Times and technology have certainly changed since that time. I was visiting the local Canadian Tire store one day saw a GPS. It was a Garmin E-Map and the cost was around $300. I bought one and started to play with it in the car. I was so fascinated that it "knew" where I was and was able to tell me our speed, distance etc. I was hooked, and there was no turning back.
Over the next few days, I devoured everything I could find concerning GPS receivers. The internet was full of info and I had tons of studying to do. I found the soc.geo.satellite-nav newsgroup and asked several questions about my new toy. I recall reading a post from someone mentioning Geocaching and decided to have a look. A quick visit to the Geocaching web site had me so interested. A search revealed that there were no geocaches in New Brunswick, so I decided to hide one and see if anyone would come find it. I grabbed a bucked in the house, threw a log book and some trinkets inside and walked a few hundred feet up the road and hid it behind some trees, about 20 feet from the highway. On April 21, 2001 GC760 was hidden and Geocaching was started in New Brunswick. On June 3, 2001 MadGPS was the first to find this cache and since that time it has been visited many times.
Since that humble beginning, I have hidden many Geocaches and in February 2004, I found my 200th cache! I am not slowing down either! This summer will be a very busy one for me and I hope to be Geocaching for many years to come!
