I remember it well... The day one of my co-workers came into my office to tell me about this newish sport which combined Hi-Tech toys, the outdoors, and the internet. It interested me from day 1... Eventually I finally snagging a GPS for myself and went out after my first cache in the Miramichi with my son (the energetic Nassau Jr.) and we were hooked from that very first find. Later that year at FarSideX's Moncton Poker Run Event, I stood up and decree we as Maritimers should form an association of sorts.. and the concept of MARGA (MARitime Geocaching Association) was born. Since that day, we've made great strives to get this doggie running... With the website up and active and the eGroup up and running, we're sure to just keep adding to our ranks. I myself am in Promotional Sales, and I play in the band Toulouse Cruise on the side with fringe-Geocacher daBiker68. My GPS of choice is (currently) a Garmin GPS 12XL which works wonders for me. Expect my "Hell's Half Acre" series of caches to expand to many points all over South-Eastern New Brunswick... |
