This is an Argus and the thing from which I borrowed the name. It was a military aircraft built in Canada in the 50's for hunting submarines. When I was a kid, this huge odd looking airplane flew over my house many times a week en route between CFB Summerside, PEI and CFB Greenwood, NS. Until its retirement in 1983, it always fascinated me. I spent 2 years gathering information to write a book on it but it never "took off".

As far as geocaching, I just kind of fell into it by accident. In November 2001, I had borrowed my brothers GPSr that he used mainly for work and thought it was pretty cool I could plot my route on the display screen as I took my dog for a walk around the neighbourhood. I also saw its value in keeping me from getting lost in the woods, which I was in 1985. Over the course of the winter, I got better with the now discontinued Magellan 2000XL and in February 2002, I decided to look to the internet for more help in using it. After bookmarking a few instructional sites, I came across Geocaching.com in a general search. That hooked me. I bought my own Magellan in March and joined up the same month. At the time there were 3 caches in Moncton to do. One in Mapleton Park (GC2EDE), one in Centennial Park (GC31F0), (both now archived), and a third in Irishtown Nature Park (GC3F97). How things have changed...
